About Tim KelleyIn seventeen years of professional experience as the founder of Tim Kelley Consulting and founding partner of Kelley & VerPlanck Historical Resources Consulting, Tim Kelley has established the histories of thousands of buildings—Victorian and Edwardian-era residences whose origins were thought lost in the earthquake and fire of 1906, as well as grand civic monuments, downtown office towers, modernist masterpieces, sheds, and shacks. As a recognized expert in labor history, he also brings valuable insight to the documentation and understanding of industrial structures and workplaces. Mr. Kelley served five terms as President of the San Francisco Landmarks Board from 2000 until 2006 and is experienced in the public process involving historic resources, as well as the often contentious atmosphere of that process. As Board President and as a consultant, he has constantly worked towards a calm and reasonable consideration of historic issues. We work in many types of built environments, but are especially at home in the tightly woven urban and suburban environments of San Francisco and the central Bay Area. We are experts at analyzing all of the building types found here, from architectural gems to the ordinary, with many different styles, structural systems, and historical contexts. The firm consists of founder Tim Kelley and four associates. |
